Desperately trying not to be hijacked by such tantalising links as this appearing on my blog-roll (a hint lay there, in that odd mix of Emily Dickinson and hummingbirds as to the kind of world I would discover) I set out my map and plans. I decided to look closest to home. Who was there, just off my map? Which sims sat nearest? To the south were twin sims named Harmony and Sympathy; to the north Nova - my new found land? These sounded promising but I decided it was a west/east kind of day.
Johnny had warned that TPing randomly can land you in trouble. Like him though, I shut my eyes and jumped, first west, straight onto a parcel of land for sale on the sim Horizons. There seemed to be a shipwreck before me, very misty and romantic, a Flying Dutchman of a ship but with my eyes now open, and fully rezzed I found I was under the American flag and the vessel intact and seaworthy. Moreover, I could take a free copy, which I did thank you Mystic Handrick!
To the East lay the land of Morgandy. I came in under water, amid strange polyps and winnowing anemone. First thoughts were of pirates, next of mermaids and indeed, here, Corkie Houston sells all sorts of mer goodness. A friendly dolphin cautioned me before I could blunder into the lair of a sea serpent.
This seemed to be an inland lake I had entered so I surfaced. The beauty and strangeness of Morgandy was instantly apparent. Delicate, bright flowers grew in the cracked terrain. Broken temples stood hidden in arboreal groves and agitated angel figures guarded the heights.
These figures remind me of the visionary world of the British painter, Stanley Spencer. Emerging from the lake directly beneath one of these figures was one of those breath-taking experiences, which the best of InWorldz creators know so well how to provide!
The south-west of Morgandy is rightly named Celestial Corner and it is a peaceful, relaxing gem.
With a little online research I have discovered that this sim is one of the ancient places of our young world but 'tis new to me. I am glad I have found it.
Oh it's beautiful!!! Wonderful pics, I wanna go see!
